Kinmen Bridge, Taiwan's first deep-water cross-sea bridge, connects Kinmen and Lieyu. The Kinmen end is located at Sec. 2 Cihu Road in Jinning Township, while the Lieyu end is located at Hupu Road. The total length of the bridge is about 5.41 km, and the largest span is 200 meters. It is the latest landmark of Kinmen. Kinmen Bridge was officially opened on October 30, 2022. Going to and from Lieyu no longer depends on the ferry schedule. As the time spent waiting for and taking the ferry can be saved, the bridge offers a more convenient and efficient journey for locals and visitors.
The bridge towers Kinmen Bridge has five towers in the world's only "ear of sorghum" shape. This design was selected by popular vote in Kinmen County. The Kinmen Bridge project was titled "Message from the heart of sorghum ear – Reviving the glory" as it aimed to communicate the rich fragrance and depth of Kinmen sorghum liquor.
