Highlights
One of Little Kinmen's most popular restaurants, Sān céng lóu, specializing in dishes both sweet and savory made from local taro, is right down the road.
Besides doubling as the entrance to the Landmine Museum, this fort is also the way into the neighboring Tiehan Fort located on the other side of the Landmine Museum.
Upon entering this fort, you’re in a maze of narrow tunnels leading to the underground Landmine Museum.
Introduction
Yonghsi Fort has two levels. Above ground, you can see the artillery fort, commander's office and bedrooms. Below ground in the tunnels, there are 8 machine gun firing spots, 4 ammunition depots and a firefighting water storage area.
To the right of the entrance is a visitor center open daily 8am-5:30pm. Half-hr guided tours (in Mandarin Chinese) start here at 10 and 11am, 3 and 4pm.
