In recent years, the trend of sports leisure and energy conservation has become popular. Cycling, being an eco-friendly and non-polluting green transportation mode, is widely loved by the public. The popularity of cycling in Taiwan has been on the rise, especially in Kinmen, which offers the best cycling environment due to its flat terrain and beautiful road landscapes.
In light of this, the Kinmen National Park Administration (referred to as the Administration) under the Ministry of the Interior has been promoting cycling ecotourism since 2008. Since 2011, the Administration has continuously organized annual island-wide cycling ecotourism activities, with routes that integrate the unique features of Kinmen National Park's battles, settlements, cultural, and ecological resources. By organizing low-carbon leisure activities, the aim is to reduce the impact of tourism on ecological sites, encourage the public to explore national parks, understand the richness of national park resources, and thereby promote local industry development.
To allow participants to experience the beauty of Kinmen more deeply, the Administration plans to launch 8 sessions of cycling activities in 2024. Led by professional guides, participants will gain an in-depth understanding of the traditional settlements, experience the historical lifestyle, feel the wartime atmosphere, and appreciate the natural ecological scenery of Kinmen. This allows the public to leisurely enjoy the fun of cycling and fully experience the beauty of Kinmen Island.
