Found the owner very helpful and friendly. The place was very clean and homely.Breakfast was limited only porridge. It will be good if they can provide some bread ,butter and jam for overseas traveller . Strongly recommended.

Little Weekend Inn was a friendly little guesthouse that was walkable to Jinchen Bus Terminal and a short bus ride from the airport and the ferry terminal. It was still far enough away from the main road that it felt like you were pretty isolated. Even though my single room was on the ground floor adjacent to the common area, as Kinmen doesn’t really attract the partying backpacker crowd, it was still a quiet pleasant stay. As I had to set out early each morning, I wasn’t able to take advantage of their free breakfast.

Originally I had planned to go visit the Mazu islands. Unfortunately that ferry was cancelled due to heavy winds, so I made a last minute plan to go to Jinmen instead. My reservation at Little Weekend Inn was even more last minute, but I feel I made a very good choice! The inn is located in a new house rising up among the fields. I liked the look of it on the photos and wasn't disappointed in reality. Although it's a bit more isolated than I had expected, about a 15 minute walk to Jincheng's city centre. However, I walked past some of the hotels situated more centrally in Jincheng town and they looked a lot more drab than cheerful Little Weekend Inn. I suppose another alternative would be a homestay in one of the more picturesque villages, like Shuitou or Shanhou. However then you are a lot further away from convenient facilities like Jincheng's bus station, shops and restaurants. So I feel Little Weekend offers the best of both worlds and was a good choice for me. What really won me over though is the friendliness and hospitality of the lovely girl who runs this inn. She treated every guest like a friend without being intrusive at all. I'm usually quite the "keep myself to myself" kind of person, but enjoyed a friendly chat over the fresh breakfast (a selection of local porridge, "onigiri" style handrolls, fresh fruit, good black coffee...) without being interviewed on every detail of my itinerary. Of course this is very personal, but for me this was exactly the right balance between genuine friendliness and respect for the guests' privacy. Add to that small touches like getting me a vegetable roll for breakfast the morning after hearing I'm a vegetarian or more practical services like offering a free ride to the port and that completes the good and friendly service. The rooms look new, cosy and stylish and are a pleasant change of the darkish hotel rooms that you find in many older hotels. Since the entire hotel has tiled floors some noise from the common living room can echo up through the hallway. But all guests respected the rule to be quiet later in the evening, so this was never really a problem. For European travellers like me, remember that Taiwanese plugs are different from ours and unlike for mainland Chinese ones you'll need an adapter. I forgot and really wanted to charge my phone. The workaround for me was connecting my powercharger to the TV's USB port, it will charge as long as you keep the TV turned on;-) Anyway, if you're looking for a genuinely friendly place in a convenient location on Jinmen, definitely consider Little Weekend.
